Swedish property and casualty (P&C) insurer If has announced its first business release in Guidewire InsuranceSuite on the Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP).

This initiative aims to bolster If’s partner-related automotive business by providing a system capable of adapting to market demands.

The implementation of Guidewire InsuranceSuite is claimed to benefit If, its partners and nearly one million car owners in Sweden.

GWCP merges infrastructure with modular services, enhancing the functionality of core insurance applications.

The recent cloud release from Guidewire, named Las Leñas, includes new capabilities such as risk-scoring tools for underwriters and actuaries.

If programme director Lars Karlsson said: “Thanks to the exceptional collaboration between our team, Accenture and Guidewire, the first release was a success. I am proud of the entire programme team that made this possible, supporting our long-term focus on providing excellent customer and partner experiences. This is just the start. Our vision is to use Guidewire across more If markets to reach greater efficiency and stability.”

Guidewire EMEA senior vice-president and managing director Will McAllister stated: “The new platform will benefit from the agility, security and scalability of Guidewire Cloud, allowing the business to seamlessly respond to evolving market dynamics and heightened customer expectations. We are delighted by the success of this initial release, and look forward to continuing to partner with If on the future rollout of GWCP to support If’s business objectives.”

Accenture, associated with the Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting Global Strategic programme, facilitated the delivery of the platform.

This month, Frankenmuth Insurance, a US P&C insurer, selected Guidewire InsuranceSuite on Guidewire Cloud to transition its core systems and improve IT operations.
