A legal battle between two of
the biggest vendors of insurance technology, Accenture and
Guidewire Software, has finally been resolved.
The battle began in December
2007 when Accenture filed a suit against Guidewire in which it
accused its rival of having infringed certain of its claims
management patents and of having stolen trade secrets relating to
claims management technology Accenture had developed.
Bringing the legal saga to an
end, Guidewire has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to
Accenture.
In addition, as part of the
settlement, Accenture and Guidewire have agreed to cross license
patents. All other terms of the settlement will remain
confidential, noted the two companies in a release.
