Inszone Insurance Services has announced the acquisition of California-based MEBO Health & Benefits, a move that bolsters its employee benefits division and broadens its benefits solutions for businesses.

MEBO Health & Benefits was founded more than two decades ago and rebranded in 2019 by Jay Torres.

Torres, the original owner, has led MEBO to become a “high-tech, high-touch company”, with its “carrier knowledge, understanding of underwriting, and expertise in policy contracts”.

This deal enables Inszone Insurance Services to grow its employee benefits division on the West Coast, offering clients improved resources and expertise.

Inszone assured present MEBO clients of a smooth transition, ensuring continued access to the personalised as well as comprehensive benefits solutions.

Inszone CEO Chris Walters said: “We are excited to welcome MEBO Health & Benefits into the Inszone team. Jay brings a wealth of experience and a unique approach to employee benefits – what he calls ‘people benefits’. His dedication to providing personalised services aligns perfectly with our mission.”

Torres said: “I was reading about Inszone and their rapid growth, doing great things for clients, and I thought they would be a good fit as I looked for a P&C [property and casualty] partner. The fact that they were property and casualty heavy and were looking to continue their growth in the benefits area appealed to me the most.”

Inszone presently manages 73 locations across various states including California, Arizona, Colorado and Texas, and intends to further its expansion nationwide.
