John Hancock Insurance has introduced electronic signatures, an addition to the company’s life insurance online services.

The new electronic signatures service helps customers by eliminating the need for them to print, sign and mail common life insurance customer service forms.

John Hancock Insurance president Mike Doughty said that consumers today want seamless, self-service online processes.

"Automated services, such as electronic signatures, are required to meet their demands for easier and simplified ways to do business," he added.

The forms that life insurance customers can complete online with electronic signatures are Address Change, Beneficiary Change, Name Change, Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, Special Authorization / 3rd Party, Policy Loan Request, Request For Dividend Withdrawal, Request For Policy Change, W9 Form and Lost Policy And Ownership Change.
