K2 Insurance Services has launched K2 Cyber, a managing general agent (MGA) focusing on cyber insurance programmes for small and medium-sized businesses.

K2 Cyber offers Intelligent Cyber Insurance, leveraging “continuous risk engineering”, prevention and mitigation solutions, as well as cyber education.

It employs a data-driven strategy that incorporates AI, real-time threat intelligence, behavioural analytics, software-as-a-service integrations and automated risk evaluations to offer customised cyber cover.

In a statement, the company highlighted that K2 Cyber moves beyond static policies with ongoing monitoring and “adaptive” coverage that evolves with emerging risks.

K2 Cyber CEO and founder Keith Moore stated: “By focusing on real-time, continuous assessments and seamless digital workflows, we ensure that agents and their clients can confidently navigate today’s intricate cybersecurity challenges.”

Moore previously led CyberPolicy and CoverHound, both of which were bought by Brown and Brown in 2020.

He is joined by a team of professionals including Meghan Hannes, former head of US Underwriting Management for Cyber Risks at Beazley, and Raymond Lynch, former Business Insurance Vertical lead at Liberty Mutual.

K2 Insurance Services CEO and co-founder Bob Kimmel said: “We are thrilled about the launch of K2 Cyber, our first division focused exclusively on cyber Insurance. The founding team at K2 Cyber brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record in cyber insurance and small business products.”

This January, K2 Group Holdings, part of K2 Insurance Services, launched K2 Credit. This new division will write non-payment insurance for single risks and portfolios, specifically serving the non-bank business segment.
