Online retailer Kogan has reached an agreement with private health insurer Medibank Group to sell budget health insurance policies under Kogan Health brand.
Under the terms of partnership, which will be valid for a period of three-year, the health insurance plans will be administered through Medibank-owned Australian Health Management Group (ahm).
For the new health insurance plans, Medibank Group will provide underwriting services while branding, marketing and customer acquisition will be done by Kogan. The e-commerce platform will get commissions on sales of all insurance plans.
Kogan.com executive director David Shafer said that the partnership with Medibank Group was another important opportunity to delight Kogan’s large and growing community, by offering better value health insurance to the Australian public:
“Kogan.com is delighted to be partnering with Medibank and ahm, which together represent one of Australia’s largest health insurers, providing private health insurance and health solutions to 3.7 million Australians. ahm is also Australia’s fastest growing health insurer,” Shafer added.
“We’re partnering with the Medibank Group, as their only partner-brand, to make health insurance more accessible for Australians. We want to make it simpler, cheaper, and faster to get the health cover you need.”
