US-based Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s
subsidiary, Liberty Insurance Company (Liberty), has been granted
approval by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to
establish a branch in China’s Shandong Province.
Liberty will offer personal line products to
the province’s 96 million people along with commercial lines
products for small-to-medium enterprises.
David Long, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s
president and CEO, said: “Liberty Mutual continues to build its
reputation in China as a strong provider of quality insurance
products and as a company dedicated to helping people live safer,
more secure lives.”
This will be Liberty’s fifth operation in
China, where it first established its presence with a
representative office in Shanghai in 1996.
Liberty received the CIRC’s approval on 6
August to prepare for a provincial branch in Jinan, the capital of
Shandong Province.
