Multinational insurance company Mapfre has announced the appointment of José Manuel Corral Vázquez as the new managing director of Mapfre Vida and general manager of the Bancassurance Channel in Spain.  

Corral, with more than three decades of experience at the company, will also be part of Mapfre Spain’s board.

According to Mapfre, Corral’s extensive tenure at the company has seen him undertake various key roles, culminating in his most recent position as the chief operating officer of Mapfre USA since 2021.  

The position of chief operating officer at Mapfre USA, previously held by Corral, will now be filled by Daniel Olohan.  

Olohan, who has been part of the company since 2006, brings industry experience, particularly in legal services and as the general secretary of Mapfre USA.  

His new role is set to begin on 1 August 2024, alongside Corral’s new appointment.
