US-based McLarens has acquired Canada-based MGB Claims Consultants (MGB Claims) to strengthen its claims services and market leadership in North America.
The financial value of the transaction was not revealed.
The acquired firm focuses on areas such as property & casualty, professional and commercial general liability, cyber, medical liability, energy & natural resources among others.
McLarens noted that the acquisition is in line with its growth strategy and its existing aviation and natural resources operations in Canada will benefit from MGB Claims team’s complex loss management expertise and technical skills.
As per the terms of the agreement MGB Claims, which began operation in 2010, will become part of McLarens North America claims and loss adjusting division, which is led by Steve Whitmarsh, chief operating officer (North America).
Its founding principals, Shawn Malik, James Giffen and Shawn Burnett, will continue to manage the business operations.
