MetLife has named Nick Nadgauda as its new executive vice-president and chief information officer (CIO), with the responsibility to be handed over on 10 March 2025.  

In the new role, Nadgauda will report to executive vice-president and head of global technology and operations Bill Pappas. 

Nadgauda will oversee MetLife’s application development, infrastructure, enterprise platforms and architecture teams.  

He has been tasked with the strategic vision and execution across the company’s technology portfolio, with a focus on enhancing market differentiation throughout the customer journey. 

His responsibilities will also include heading MetLife’s collaboration with NC TECH around the Centre for Technology Workforce Innovation, aimed at promoting the growth of North Carolina’s technology workforce.  

MetLife’s Global Technology Hub is situated in Cary, North Carolina, with a staff headcount of 2,600.

Nadgauda most recently worked at Citi, where he had a 20-year stint.  

As the CIO, he led a global team of 15,000 and was pivotal in devising the technological strategy of Citi Services.  

Before his tenure at Citi, Nadgauda was a co-founder and chief technology officer at Invertica, a software company specialised in web-services and integration middleware.  

Nadgauda’s career started at Motorola’s Corporate Research Labs, and he is credited with six patents in wireless communication algorithms.

Recently, MetLife partnered with General Atlantic to establish Chariot Re, a Bermuda-based Class E life and annuity reinsurance company that is set to launch in the first half of 2025.
