Reinsurance broker Miller has named Elizabeth McGonagle as the head of Power for Asia-Pacific, effective January 2025.

Operating out of Singapore, McGonagle will report to head of Energy & Marine for Asia-Pacific Matthew Hooker.

With more than a decade of experience in the power sector, McGonagle joins Miller from Howden Singapore, where she served as regional director.

Her previous roles include a seven-year stint at Willis Towers Watson, culminating as division director for natural resources, power and renewables in Asia.

The move is part of Miller’s growth strategy in the power sector and is in line with the broker’s broader objectives to enhance its energy, power and construction capabilities in the region.

Hooker said: “We are seeing strong demand for the specialist expertise that we have built in Asia, and I am delighted to enhance this with Liz’s experience and passion. As a leading figure in the Asia power market, her decision to join us is testament to the team we are growing and further strengthens our ability to offer clients tailored solutions.”

McGonagle added: “The Asia-Pacific region presents immense opportunities for growth and innovation, and with Miller’s strong reputation and growing momentum, I look forward to building on this success and helping clients confidently navigate these challenges and opportunities.”

Last month, Miller appointed Amanda Armitage as business development manager within the International Professions team, and Scott Gorman as the leader of the UK and International Professional Indemnity (PI) Wholesale team.
