NFP, an international insurance brokerage and consulting services provider, has expanded its footprint in Ireland with the acquisition of Sean Barrett Bloodstock Insurances, trading as Barrett Private Insurances.
Dublin-based Barrett Private Insurances, with a 37-year presence in the Irish market, is known for its specialised insurance solutions catering to private clients.
Barrett Private Insurances brings to NFP its understanding of various insurance markets including auto, bloodstock, collections, home, travel and yachts.
This acquisition is expected to enhance the specialised insurance services NFP offers in Ireland.
John Barrett, director of Sean Barrett Bloodstock Insurances, will move to NFP, taking on the role of managing director.
He will be primarily tasked with enabling the growth of NFP’s Private Client Group in both Ireland and the UK.
The Private Client Group is dedicated to delivering customised risk solutions for affluent clients.
NFP in Europe group managing director JP Allcock said: “We have established a strong presence in the Irish market through organic growth and acquisition, and the expertise of the team at Sean Barrett Bloodstock Insurances will undoubtedly strengthen it further.
“Their commitment to delivering excellent service to their clients with a personalised touch aligns with our approach, and we look forward to their active involvement in expanding our private client offerings in the Irish market and into the UK.”
Barrett added: “We are excited to be joining NFP and be part of a growing company. With extensive global resources, a strong management team and an excellent talent base, NFP will enable us to make significant contributions that ultimately grow the business. This is a great opportunity for us to bring additional value to the clients we serve.”
Founded in 1999, NFP operates from the US and offers a range of services including property and casualty insurance brokerage, benefits and retirement plan advisory, and wealth management.
The company has more than 7,700 employees.
Earlier this year, NFP was acquired by UK-based professional services company Aon in a deal valued at $13bn (£10.09bn).
