When it comes to employee benefit online enrolment is the way to
go reveals a study by US mutual insurer The Guardian Life Insurance
Company of America (Guardian).

“Our research indicates a
substantial shift in attitudes, needs and technology behaviours
among all generations of workers,” said Elena Wu, Guardian group
insurance vice-president.

Guardian has found that the shift
towards online enrolment has been swift with 62% of workers now
using this method compared with 54% in 2010 and 29% in 2005.

Guardian’s research also reveals
that 56% of workers across all age and education levels believe a
single, consolidated online platform integrating all benefits
offered enables them to better understanding and consider their
insurance options and make selections.

Of particular importance to
employers, it also allows them to better appreciate the value of
benefits offered to them.

Also of note, Guardian found that
workers generally prefer online enrolment over a paper process.
