The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), an association of small and medium-sized businesses, has teamed up with Pets Plus Us for pet insurance services.
The collaboration with the pet insurer will help CFIB’s 100,000 members across Canada, as well their workers and families, access coverage of up to $15,000 annually.
This coverage includes veterinary care and treatment for eligible accidents and illnesses, such as anaesthesia, consultations, drugs, emergency care, exams, hospitalisation and surgery, along with specialist referral.
The partnership also provides complementary services including round-the-clock emergency telehealth support, access to the Pet Poison Helpline and pet bereavement support.
The pet insurance policies of the company are underwritten by Northbridge General Insurance and distributed by PTZ Insurance Services and Société d’Assurances Collectives (Sodaco) in Quebec.
CFIB CEO and president Dan Kelly said: “We recognise the growing demand for pet insurance across the country and are excited to partner with Pets Plus Us to deliver ongoing value to CFIB members, their employees and their families by making it even more affordable.”
Pets Plus Us Canada insurance growth, expansion & strategy managing director Eric Coulson said: “Pets Plus Us is dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of Canada’s furry companions and we are proud to be partnering with CFIB to serve the small business community and make pet insurance more accessible.”
CFIB’s goal is to enhance the success of business owners by “driving” policy changes at all government levels, “negotiating” savings and offering expert advice.
