Rokstone, part of the Aventum Group, has expanded its offerings with the launch of a new sports and leisure casualty division in the US.

The new division will provide specialised insurance solutions for a wide range of sports-related risks.

The initiative is spearheaded by Charles Landrum, who brings more than 40 years of experience in the US commercial casualty market, tailored to the sports and leisure sectors.

Landrum’s appointment follows his tenure as principal consultant at Chasgatr Consultants.

His previous stints included chief underwriting officer at Everest Re, CEO of T.H.E Insurance Company, and positions at Nationwide Insurance and Allied Insurance Holdings.

The newly formed division has secured A-rated capacity to cover admitted business, catering to a wide spectrum of clients from small amateur sports associations to large governing bodies.

The coverage is designed to address complex and non-standard exposures within the sports and leisure industry.

Rokstone CEO James Potter said: “We are excited to welcome Charles to the team. The casualty market has gone through a reset on pricing; once again, we have a relationship-driven environment, and few people have the depth and breadth of relationships that Charles brings with him.”

Landrum added: “I am delighted to join Rokstone. The opportunity to build a proposition that can meet the complex and non-standard needs of this market is incredibly exciting. I look forward to delivering exceptional solutions for our clients.”

Rokstone’s latest move comes on the heels of the introduction of its sports personal accident insurance portfolio.

This portfolio aims to offer comprehensive protection for athletes globally, covering a range of eventualities including accidental death, permanent and temporary disablement, as well as medical expenses and repatriation.
