Drone insurance provider Moonrock has partnered with integrated drone operations technology provider SOARIZON by Thales to provide discounted services to drone pilots and operators.

The partnership will allow SOARIZON users to access discounted insurance from Moonrock, at up to 20% off standard policy pricing, reported UAS Weekly.

Moonrock, run by drone pilots and insurance experts, aims to offer flexible cover for the specific risks faced by commercial operators.

Moonrock CEO Simon Ritterband has been quoted by the UAS Weekly as saying: “We are delighted to join forces with SOARIZON. For us, operators using a robust digital process to plan their drone operations, assess their risk and keep a central point of record, present a lower risk profile to insurers. This partnership enables us to reward our trusted operators.”

SOARIZON by Thales offers digital platform for commercial drone operators and enterprises to run drone operations.

The platform enables pilots to conduct risk assessments and offers them the ability to include comprehensive articulation of risk mitigations.

Commenting on the latest development, SOARIZON by Thales partnerships manager Benjamin Orcan was quoted as saying: “We are thrilled to add Moonrock to our growing ecosystem of industry-leading partners. Their expert knowledge and progressive approach will add great value to our community of drone operators.

“Insurance is one of the key pillars of safe drone operations and has a crucial role in underpinning the drone economy.”
