SS&C Technologies has agreed to acquire Capita Life & Pensions Services Ireland (CLPSI) and certain related business in Ireland.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The deal is said to expand SS&C’s presence in the international life insurance and pensions servicing market.

CLPSI caters to the international life and pensions sector with business process management, technology and consultancy services.

Its services also support financial and back-office administration, claims management, actuarial and financial reporting, investment administration, product and IT development, and business transformation.

The firm has around 380 employees in Dublin, Belfast, and Craigforth.

SS&C Technologies chairman and CEO Bill Stone said: “CLPSI is a well-established services and technology provider in Ireland, and the acquisition adds to our international outsourcing business.

“Combining our expertise and leading-edge technologies will enable SS&C and CLPSI to provide existing and new clients a first class service offering.”

The deal is anticipated to wrap up in the second quarter of 2020. It awaits regulatory approvals.

Headquartered in Connecticut, SS&C is a fintech firm set up in 1986.

The business went public in 1996. It was purchased by entities affiliated with The Carlyle Group in 2005 and was taken private.

The firm has a footprint in 35 countries and more than 22,000 employees. Over 18,000 financial services and healthcare organisations use its products.
