Morristown, Tennessee, US-based independent insurance agency Strate Insurance Group has merged with Main Street Insurance Group, a risk management, insurance and employee benefits company.  

In addition to its newly established Morristown presence, Main Street Insurance Group has offices in Charlotte, Fletcher, Forest City and Tryon, North Carolina; and Augusta, Georgia.

The combined entity will operate under the name Strate Insurance Group, A Main Street Insurance Group Partner. 

All employees will remain, with current customers to continue working with the Morristown team. 

Existing policies or coverage will be unchanged during the transition period. 

Established in 1978 by Jack and Agnes Strate, along with Tom Strate, Strate Insurance provides personal service and technical expertise in risk management, insurance and employee benefits advisory to both business and personal clients.

In 2018, Katherine Strate Smith joined the organisation and has been working with Tom Strate to shape its next chapter.

With the merger, Smith will step into a new role as a partner and owner at Main Street, while Tom Strate will continue to serve clients and seek new business opportunities in an advisory capacity.  

The merger allows the combined team to extend services to business and personal clients in East Tennessee, in sectors such as manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, healthcare, non-profit and construction industries.
