Symetra Life Insurance Company has introduced two new plans to support employees in the event of accidental injuries.

One of the new plans is the scheduled benefit accident coverage, which will make fixed-benefit payments to policyholders following an accidental injury. The payment will be dependent on the injury type or medical treatment.

The Symetra accident coverage plan includes three variants: Base, Classic, and Premier. They will offer increasing benefit levels. However, the coverage schedule in all the three cases will remain same.

The other new offering by Symetra is the per occurrence accident coverage that will make entire payments of eligible services associated with accidental injury to policyholders up to the benefit limits.

The two plans will also have the provision of customisable coverage and will offer benefits to employees even if they have other insurance policies.

Symetra group life and disability director of product management Todd Dzen said: “Even when employers have a major medical plan, it can be tough for employees to meet their deductible, copay or coinsurance requirements. Because every employer group is different, a one-size-fits-all solution doesn’t always work.

“Symetra’s two accident policies—per occurrence and our new scheduled benefit—are designed to help employers better meet their employees’ specific needs.”
