US-based telehealth platform, Teladoc, has agreed a deal to acquire medical consultation company Best Doctors.
Best Doctors already works with international private medical insurance (IPMI) provider, Now Health International and AIG Life, for example.
Teladoc said by leveraging the portfolio of healthcare solutions from it and Best Doctors, members will have a simple, patient-centric way to resolve their healthcare issues, and thereby improve outcomes and reduce costs.
Teladoc said it will marry its technology, engagement capabilities, and platform with Best Doctors’ network of medical experts, analytics expertise, patient decision-support, and regional expertise on a global scale.
Expansion plans
As a result of the deal, the tele-health platform said it will now develop and deploy global expansion plans, meeting a broader spectrum of care needs outside the US.
