A higher proportion of UK investors are taking
a long-term view on their investment strategies compared to their
counterparts in the Middle and Far East, according to a survey from
Friends Life.
The survey of almost 3000 investors in Hong
Kong, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) found that 40%
of investors in the UK are adopting a long term investment view,
with ‘long-term’ defined as more than three years.
By comparsion, 31% of investors in the United Arab Emirates
and 20% in Singapore are taking a long-term investment view.
The survey also found that 26.8% of investors in the UK are
taking a short-term view, with ‘short-term’ defined as three years
or less, compared to 31% in Singapore and 37% in the UAE.
