UPMC WorkPartners, an integrated health and productivity solutions provider and part of UPMC Insurance Services Division, has acquired privately-held health information service company HCMS Group for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition allows UPMC WorkPartners to extend its national footprint and fuel revenue growth.

The move will also complement and further strengthen its portfolio, which includes tailored health management and wellness offerings, employee assistance programs, workers’ compensation coverage, employee health services, short-term disability management, FMLA programs and benefit administration services.

HCMS offers data analytic platforms, employer-centric business intelligence engines, and targeted telephonic clinical intervention programs, which enable its customers to identify individuals at greatest risk for high utilisation and/or low productivity and to deliver targeted clinical interventions to modify these cost and productivity trajectories.

WorkPartners president David Weir said: “We look forward to adding the expertise of HCMS to WorkPartners’ suite of services, which includes absence management, short-term disability, and other health and productivity workplace solutions.

“Our shared goal is to assist clients in transforming the well-being of their workforce while maximizing employee engagement, lowering health care costs, and improving overall employee health.”
