Application activity in the
US individual life insurance sector inched up in August, rising
0.7% compared with August 2010, research firm MIB Group has
reported. The rise in application activity in August marked the
third consecutive month in which a year-on-year (YOY) increase was
recorded, noted MIB. Less encouraging was that the rise in activity
in August was down from 2.1% in July.
Increased application
activity over the past three months and in two other months in 2011
was a marked change over the picture in 2010 when YOY declines of
up to 4% were recorded, noted MIB.
