Ventis, a managing general agent (MGA) specialising in commercial and residential real estate insurance, has announced its expansion into Ireland.
This move aims to provide service and capacity to brokers in the middle of the property market.
Through a partnership with the Underwriting Exchange (TUE), Ventis will distribute its capacity exclusively in the Republic of Ireland.
Irish brokers will now have access to Ventis’ capacity for mid-market real estate risks, with up to €40m ($44.74m) in total sums insured.
The company will operate its underwriting activities from its new Dublin office, where underwriter Suchitra Ramakrishnan is based.
Ventis CEO Gareth Roberts said: “Many brokers in the Irish property insurance market have been struggling to find insurers who can deliver quality service. In the nine months since launching Ventis, we have built a reputation in the UK as a firm that provides exactly that, and now we are bringing that proposition to the Irish market.

By GlobalData“We believe there is a marked opportunity, made possible through access to TUE’s existing broker networks, to deliver Ventis’ quality capacity and service to the Irish mid-market property sector.”
TUE, a specialist broker located in Dublin, facilitates access to Lloyd’s and the European market for all Irish and European Economic Area-based risks.
TUE Specialist Risk Europe chairman Stephen O’Connor said: “Adding Ventis to TUE’s panel of underwriting partners will allow us to access the property market at a higher level than we have covered previously.”
In January 2024, Ventis entered the UK with backing from Mission Underwriters and Accelerant Insurance Europe.
Ventis underwrites a broad range of small and medium-sized enterprise and mid-sized property risks, particularly standard risks that are typically overlooked by larger insurers.
