Workforce Insurance Underwriters (WIU), a managing general agent (MGA) and wholesale insurance broker catering to the specialised needs of the trucking industry, has launched two new insurance products on the Joshu platform.

The launch marks a significant enhancement in WIU’s digital distribution capabilities.

The newly introduced products including small fleet truckers occupational accident insurance and truckers inbound travel insurance were developed and launched in less than 100 days using the Joshu platform.

According to Joshu, this rapid deployment underscores the platform’s ability to streamline the transition from product creation to policy issuance, fostering digital growth while maintaining underwriting standards.

Joshu, a platform that enables insurers to swiftly establish online distribution channels and with minimal IT reliance, has been instrumental in the development and deployment of these products.

The platform’s design focuses on equipping insurance professionals with the necessary tools to capitalise on digital distribution and accelerate their go-to-market strategies.

WIU Operations vice-president Jessica Bloom said: “Our collaboration with Joshu has been a game-changer for WIU. Their underwriting platform has enabled us to launch our new products with exceptional speed and ease.

“The intuitive interface allows our team to navigate the system efficiently, ensuring we can promptly provide our clients with the innovative solutions they need. We truly value this partnership and look forward to future successes together.”

James Obregon, along with his team, founded WIU in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2023.

Last year, WIU introduced five products across more than 30 states on the Joshu platform within an eight-week time frame.

Building on this achievement, WIU, which offers insurance products for small fleet truckers and owner-operators, has further broadened its portfolio of affordable, commercial insurance products with the recent launches.

Joshu solution consulting and client success vice-president Kevin Powers said: “WIU’s product expansion was completed in under 100 days, not only exemplifying the reasons we built Joshu but also maintaining their spot in Joshu Century Club and demonstrating the value of leveraging modern insurance technology.”
