Swiss insurer Zurich has joined forces with data solutions provider Carpe Data to automate and accelerate claims processes and combat insurance fraud.
Under the arrangement, the Swiss insurer will leverage Carpe Data’s claims monitoring platform ClaimsX to minimise the rising cost of claims.
ClaimsX makes use of publicly available web data for real-time assessment and automated decision making, from first notice of loss to settlement.
Zurich will use ClaimsX’s predictive online content to proactively audit injury claimants and identify cases where the claimant’s profile is at odds with the claims presented.
It is claimed that the process will not only help stop frauds at an early stage but will also facilitate faster payments to legitimate claims.
Carpe Data co-founder and COO Geoff Andrews said: “Data and technology play an integral role in catalysing change across the insurance industry, and Zurich recognises that.
